President Bush Favors Wider Pearl Harbor Monument Status, BUT...

HISTORIC & FORGOTTEN  WW-II  HAWAII  BATTLEFIELD

Ewa Field could face Bull Dozers after July, 2008 !

As we have been preparing this and our related

December 7--"SAVE Ewa Field" website pages

The White House has just announced:

June 1, 2008, Associated Press News Story-

"President Bush has asked his defense and interior secretaries to look into designating

Pearl Harbor and other historic World War II sites in the Pacific a national monument.

A May 29 presidential memo to Defense Secretary Robert Gates and Interior Secretary

Dirk Kempthorne said such status could offer the sites additional protection. The letter,

posted on the White House Web site, doesn't say what specific places Bush has in mind

aside from Pearl Harbor."

The timing for our SAVE EWA FIELD initiative now looks like

it fits into this new statement from the White House.

We have been in previous contact with the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor about

placing Ewa Marine Corps Air Field on the National Historic Register. Now that this new

President Bush, White House story has come out, maybe things will HAPPEN!

We have also been in contact with U.S.S. Arizona historian Daniel Martinez

who said he is very interested in visiting with us and supports our "Save Ewa Field"

initiative. BUT- we still need YOUR NATIONAL SUPPORT!

before the possible arrival in JULY of Ewa developer Bulldozers!
