Barbers Point NAS and Ewa MCAS, April 5, 1944 For decades most people have thought that the December 7, 1941 attack happened at Barbers Point NAS. This is because, due to some very bizarre historic misappropriation, the entire Ewa Field and Ewa MCAS was virtually ERASED from public knowledge. The remaining local knowledge assumed that the place where the December 7 attack took place "must be" at the site of the present Barbers Point Navy Golf Course, so a marker exists THERE. But Ewa Field was always THERE, it was just LOST! |
