At left is a scene from the movie as Kate Torpedo Bombers cross the center of Oahu Island on the morning of December 7, 1941. The irony here is that Japanese-American pineapple plantation workers have no idea that their lives will be forever changed, along with millions of other people in the world, in just a matter of minutes… The Nakajima B5N2 Torpedo Bomber was used effectively against the American pacific fleet at Pearl Harbor where 144 B5N2 Kates were in the attacking force. |

...Some "Tora" Movie Facts- Actor Jason Robards was actually present at the bombing of Pearl Harbor on the 7th of December, 1941 21 August 2001 Special effects genius A.D. Flowers, who won Oscars for Tora! Tora! Tora! in 1970 and The Poseidon Adventure two years later, and who created explosions and other effects in dozens of movies and television shows, including the movies The Towering Inferno, The Poseidon Adventure, The Godfather and Apocalypse Now, died on July 5 in Fullerton, CA. at the age of 84. |
